About us

We are and we work together as a group of friends with a shared common goal to understand, clarify, help people in unusual paranormal circumstances and to gather evidence of where the paranormal may (or may not) leak into the world we know.

Our group was started in 2006 by Jackie, who founded Kent Paranormal Seekers. When Jackie moved to Cornwall the group carried on as the membership had grown and was established. In our early period we were much like other paranormal groups, waving EMF meters around, doing investigations in the dark and getting excited about “light anomalies which were invariably a common artefact of our cameras and how they were used. Moving on from our early beginnings, we have learnt through experience take a more analytical approach to our investigations.

Occasionally we have new members join us when vacancies become available. Our membership is small and diverse, and covers the spectrum from believing to disbelieving. We encourage our members to challenge common perceptions, both the unbelieving view and the believing view, in order that our evidence can be the best that it is possible to gather.

We do both public and private investigations and also enjoy a good social life. As a group we get along together well, which is important where we need to spend several hours in each other’s company and we may have different perspectives on any evidence obtained.

We don’t claim to be a professional organisation; just like every other paranormal group in at least the UK we can only legitimately claim to be amateurs. The only organisation that may legitimately make such a claim is funded and operates as part of a university. Most of our members have full time jobs and are part of our team in their spare time. Kent Paranormal Seekers’ objective is to exceed the amateur status that all paranormal groups are entitled to so that we are professional in everything but name.

In short, we are very normal people with an interest in the unusual.
