Bone chilling accounts of ghost, ghouls and ghastly spectres throughout historic Ashford

Situated in the heart of historic Kent, Ashford is a market town steeped in a rich history. Once voted the fourth best place to live in the Untied Kingdom, Ashford is a seemingly calm and tranquil place. However, behind its idyllic exterior Ashford hides many supernatural secrets that will surprise residents and tourists alike.

From screaming woods and hellhounds to phantom planes and apparitions, this vast collection of hauntings unearths Ashford's little known ghostly secrets. Neil Arnold delves into a wide array of haunted priories, public houses, castles and churchyards—including stories from Pluckley, reputedly Britain's most ghost infested village. These accounts include tales such as the skeletal murderer of Crundale. In 1703 a severe storm caused a large tree to be wrenched from the ground; underneath its roots lay the skeleton of ’a murderer’. Legend has it that the ghost of this man can be seen throughout the village, frightening its residence.

• Hauntings from the 35 surrounding villages and towns of Ashford, from Aldington to Wye.
